Center for Economic Research & Graduate Education–Economics Institute (CERGE-EI) is offering MA Scholarships in Economics for September 2016. Czech Republic and international students can apply for these scholarships.
The institute mission is to build a recognized center of excellence and innovation in economics research and education. CERGE-EI is a joint workplace of Charles University in Prague and the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
The MA in Applied Economics program reflects the increasingly significant role that economics plays in today’s world. It combines theoretical mathematics-based economics with real-life applications.
Applicants must provide previous education in economics or related fields, such as other Social Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics and various technical fields; standardized English test report (TOEFL, IELTS, or other); Tests proving their readiness to study at graduate level, such as GRE, GMAT, or other relevant work or internship experience.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship covers:
-Exceptionally well-prepared applicants are eligible for partial scholarships. Scholarship decisions are made by the Admissions Committee based on submitted documents and interview results. There is no special application to obtain a scholarship.
-Scholarships are given in the form of tuition discounts for exceptionally well-prepared applicants, based on a complete application package (no special procedure to apply for a discount). The lowest tuition level is 7,000 USD. Full scholarships are not available.
-It is possible for students to obtain bank loans and other support for study. The MA in Applied Economics program staff will be happy to provide documents required to apply for a study loan upon request.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for this scholarship:-
-The institute wants applicants to succeed in the program. That’s why they have some basic requirements for all their applicants. Required to do well in the program:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Master’s graduates are welcome to apply
-Some background in mathematics, ideally at basic calculus level or more. Even advanced high school math classes count here
-Not required but encouraged to help us decide if applicants’ thrive in the program:
-Previous education in economics or related fields, such as other social sciences, mathematics, statistics and various technical fields
-Standardized English test report (TOEFL, IELTS, or other)
-Tests proving their readiness to study at graduate level, such as GRE, GMAT, or other
-Relevant work or internship experience.
Nationality: Czech Republic and international students can apply for these scholarships.
