Department of Business Administration, Technology and Social Sciences in Lulea University of Technology is seeking application for Professor Position in Industrial Work Environment. The appointed professor will lead and develop research within industrial work environment, as defined in the subject description, and will be responsible for education in sociology and human work science at all levels. It is also important for the appointed professor to develop and broaden collaboration with national and international research groups, as well as interacting with the surrounding community and industry.
To get position, applicants must be a leading person within hers or his subject field and demonstrate an original and innovative scientific or artistic core in the work while attaining a high international standard/ Have documented proficiency in a scientific body of work that corresponds to at least three doctoral dissertations.
Subject description Industrial work environment includes analysis, design and development of production systems and work organizations based on humans physiological, social and cultural conditions. Duties The appointed professor will lead and develop research within industrial work environment, as defined in the subject description, and will be responsible for education in sociology and human work science at all levels. It is also important for the appointed professor to develop and broaden collaboration with national and international research groups, as well as interacting with the surrounding community and industry. The commission as chaired professor includes the responsibility to actively contribute to the external funding of research projects, and to contribute to the development of the division, the department and the university as a whole. The appointment as professor is permanent, and the commission as chaired professor is limited to six years with the possibility of extension. Eligibility requirements under the higher education ordinance and the appointments procedure Persons are eligible to be appointed as Professor if they have displayed both scientific proficiency and pedagogical proficiency. The same consideration should be shown when assessing pedagogical proficiency and scientific proficiency. In order to meet the requirements for the position of Professor, the successful applicant must: Be a leading person within hers or his subject field and demonstrate an original and innovative scientific or artistic core in the work while attaining a high international standard Have documented proficiency in a scientific body of work that corresponds to at least three doctoral dissertations Have documented experience in seeking and been granted external funding for research and development projects Demonstrate well-documented proficiency in supervision at the third-cycle level, and have been the principal supervisor for at least one third-cycle student during the majority of the student’s third-cycle studies up until the student is awarded their Doctorate, and at least from the Degree of Licentiate/corresponding credits up until the Doctorate Demonstrate pedagogical proficiency Assessment criteria The following assessment criteria are applied to the position: Demonstrated scientific proficiency Documented qualified pedagogical proficiency Demonstrated ability in managing and developing university activities Other assessment criteria in order of importance: Research experience in technology and industrial related areas Proficiency in developing and leading activities and people in university environment Documented ability in obtaining research funding Documented ability in collaborating with industry and society Administrative skill of importance for the subject and the duties as described above Proven skills in communication and information about research and development The applicant must have good teaching capabilities in the English language, and other objective factors will also be taken into account as for example the gender equality goals at Luleå University of Technology.
